Chronology of cameras Clement, E-G
This type of very rustic camera, known as "minuteros," is still in use around the world. It allows for taking street photos and obtaining the result within a few minutes. The principle is simple.
The first shot produces a negative directly on paper. Its development takes place inside the camera itself, functioning as a mini-laboratory. Once this "negative" photo is developed, it needs to be re-photographed by positioning it at the end of the arm in front of the lens. This produces a negative of the negative... thus a positive image on paper.
While today, cameras of this type still in use are often handmade, a few manufacturers offered them in small series during the 1920s and 1930s.
